Is the Commission’s announcement to enable misuse of EU funds to finance abortions a criminal offence? A chat with Claude.ai

Answer: This is a genuinely contested legal and political question, and the answer depends on which legal arguments you find more persuasive. Here is a structured overview of both sides:

Framing the killing of babies as “empowering women”, Council of Europe awards prize money to pro-abortion campaign

This is how to turn democracy into a laughing stock. The pro-abortion campaign “My Voice, My Choice” has spent an officially stated budget of 1 million Euro to propagandize the killing of unborn children. This makes the self-described “grassroots campaign” the most expensive European Citizens’ Initiative of all times. Not the most successful one, though – because that distinction goes to the pro-life campaign “ONE OF US, which used a far smaller budget to collect a far greater number of statements of support. The European Union’s hermetic institutions, however, prefer to fulfil the wishes of those who have much money but little popular support over listening to a citizens’ initiative with little money but a lot of support. When 1.7 million Europeans asked the Commission to ensure that no money from the EU budget be used for abortion, the Commission ignored them. When 1.1 million ask the Commission to find ways to funnel taxpayer money into the pockets of the abortion industry, the same Commission bends backwards to make it happen, inciting Member States to misappropriate money from the European Social Fund (ESF+).

And to make sure that the so-called “grassroot activists”, who have been lavishly funded by the commercial abortion industry, suffer no shortage of budget, some leftist members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe have now found another creative way of funding a fake “civil society group” with taxpayers’ money: they award a prize to it.

Disgusting: the EU invokes alleged ‘victims’ rights’ to justify the killing of children

The EU’s new Victims’ Rights Directive, which aims to establish uniform standards for victims of war crimes, is the first EU legislative act to seek to make abortion a “right”. This is a dangerous precedent – and that is precisely what it is intended to be: the highly emotive (but in reality rare) case of a child conceived through rape is being used as a pretext to introduce a “right to abortion” into EU law. Once this has been done, the scope and application of this supposed “right” – which is in reality a grave injustice – can and will be extended in whatever direction one pleases.

What is left out of consideration is that abortion constitutes the deliberate killing of a child who is in no way to blame for the circumstances that led to its conception. This so-called ‘victim’s right’ is essentially an uncivilised act of revenge against an innocent child who is, as it were, killed in place of his or her father. This was decided by politicians who are immensely proud of their stance against the death penalty.

Service? Health service? Commissioner Lahbib sidesteps the crucial question

When MEPs ask critical questions, the correct answers to which would leave the Commission utterly exposed, there is only one option open to the Commissioner responsible for drafting the reply: make a lot of unnecessary words, whilst sidestepping the essential question. One may go about it more skilfully or less skilfully – but the seasoned reader will always check whether the nub of the matter has been addressed. If it hasn’t, it is an embarrassment for the Commissioner, who evidently has no useful answer to offer and hopes that no one will notice.

German Federal Diet: “Funding abortion is not in line with the original purpose of ESF+

The conservative “Alternative für Deutschland” group in the German Federal Diet has requested the German government to state clearly that the use of ESF+ funds to fund abortions would not be in line with the purposes of the fund.

Hated by the German political establishment and mass media, Alternative für Deutschland is set to overtake the Christian Democrat Union (CDU, the party of Helmut Kohl, Angela Merkel and Ursula von der Leyen) in all opinion polls, which makes it Germany’s leading party. This is mainly due to the fact that it is now maintaining the positions that originally used to be those of the CDU.

Now it is official: European Commission co-funded pro-abortion initiative “My Voice, My Choice”

In response to a written question from Members of the European Parliament, the European Commission has now been forced to admit that it (indirectly) funded the “My Voice, My Choice” abortion initiative. This is an embarrassment not only for the Commission, whose claim to be an impartial and objective “guardian of the Treaties” is thus called into question, but also for the abortion initiative, whose narrative of a “grassroots movement” collapses like a failed soufflé

The “European Fund for Everything”

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”
“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”

(Lewis Carroll: Through the Looking-Glass)

Someone who is otherwise known to be a brilliant lawyer and very committed to protecting the right to life of the unborn has told us that in his opinion it is difficult to dispute that a State may include abortion within healthcare, even under EU law, insofar as this practice is not explicitly excluded and the EU only has a supporting competence in this area. As a consequence of this, he opines that the European Social Fund (ESF+) could be used to fund abortions.

How abortion and contraception lead to economic and social decline

One of the most outlandish claims in the European Commission’s neo-socialist Gender Equality Strategy is the assertion that abortion and contraception will lead to economic growth and prosperity. Of course, the opposite is true: people who have no children have no future. Even those who have no moral objections to abortion should be able to grasp this much.

The EU’s Gender-Socialist Five-Year Plan

In the Soviet Union, of ill-famed memory, social progress was driven by so-called five-year plans, which were drawn up by the government bureaucracy and rubber-stamped by a sham parliament. In the People’s Republic of China and other communist dictatorships, this is still the case today. It is not society that is meant to influence political events; rather, the political elite seeks to control social life.

The European Commission has long been following this example when it sets itself a multi-annual work programme. This work programme then forms the basis for further planning, such as the “Gender Equality Strategy 2026-2030” presented a week ago, a gift from the Commission to its grateful citizens to mark “International Women’s Day” (a tradition also adopted from the Soviet Union).
